Symposium Submission Guidelines

Proposal, evaluation, and integration into the official program

If you wish to submit a symposium proposal for the RUNES/AFIRSE 2026 Congress (in partnership with UNESCO), please complete the symposium proposal form available online or as a downloadable file and submit it through the official platform.

Symposium Format

  • A general summary(2,500 to 4,000 characters including spaces), presenting:
    • Symposium title (max. 22 words)
    • Common research problem
    • Panel objectives
    • Scientific coherence of the proposal
  • A list of 4 to 5 individual communicationsto be included, with for each:
    • Name, first name, institution, position, email
    • Title and abstract
  • Accepted languages: French, English, Spanish, Portuguese
  • Each communication must be linked to one of the conference thematic axes

Submission Process

  • The symposium is submitted by the lead organizer via the official platform
  • Each symposium participant must register individually for the congress
  • Deadline for submission: September 30, 2025
  • The detailed schedule of the symposium will be requested in November 2025

Role of the Symposium Coordinator

  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of the complete symposium
  • Verify the consistency and compliance of individual abstracts
  • Ensure the scientific coherence of the panel
  • Chair or moderate the session during the congress

Additional Required Information

  • Thematic axes: indicate 1st and 2nd choice
  • Co-organizers: up to 4 persons (name, role, institution, email)
  • Scientific leadership: background and experience of the symposium leaders
  • Research problem (max. 2,000 characters including spaces)
  • Scientific relevance & short bibliography (max. 2,000 characters)
  • Type of call: open call for papers or direct submission
  • Selection criteria and review process
  • Preferred dates: February 17 (PM), 19, or 20, 2026
  • Related events: cocktail, book or journal presentation (specify format and materials)

Evaluation Criteria

All symposium proposals will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee based on the following criteria:

  • Clarity of the title and relevance to the congress theme
  • Clarity and coherence with the selected thematic axis
  • Overall scientific relevance
  • Scientific leadership of the organizing team
  • Appropriateness of organizational details
  • Relevance and interest for attendees
  • Openness to interdisciplinary or international dialogue
