Author Guidelines
Submission, evaluation and selection procedures
Each paper submitted to the RUNES/AFIRSE International Congress, in partnership with UNESCO, may be considered for publication in the peer-reviewed journal La Recherche en Éducation, after revision of the full article.
Submitting a Proposal – Long Abstract
Authors wishing to submit a proposal must follow the guidelines below:
- A long abstract between 4,000 and 6,000 characters (including spaces), or approximately 1,000 words, including:
- Title of the communication
- Research problem
- Theoretical framework
- Methodology
- Expected results or initial findings
- Key bibliographic references (maximum of 5)
- Up to 3 keywords and the title must be provided in French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
- The abstract must be entered directly into the online form (no file upload).
- A separate page in the same file must include:
- Title of the article
- Name(s) of the author(s) with contact author clearly indicated
- Institution(s) and position(s)
- Email address(es)
Formatting Standards
- Languages accepted: French, English, Spanish or Portuguese (if it is a national language of the authors' country)
- Word document format, Calibri 12, single spacing, 2.5 cm margins on all sides
- Maximum total length: 35,000 characters including spaces (including figures, tables, bibliography and abstracts)
- TITLE: Uppercase bold, Calibri 14, centered
- Level 1 headings: Lowercase bold, Calibri 12 (e.g., 1 Title)
- Level 2 headings: Lowercase bold italic, Calibri 12 (e.g., 2.1 Title)
Typographic Conventions
- Quotation marks in French: « … » ; in English and Portuguese: “…”
- Period placed inside quotation marks in French: « text. »
- Latin expressions should be italicized: et al.
Verbatim and Citations
- Interview excerpts: quoted between « … » with 2.5 cm indentation, no italics
- References within text: (Author et al., 2020) or (Author et al., 2020, p. xx)
Figures, Tables, Notes
- Figures and tables should be inserted directly into the text, titled and numbered
- Tables must be in Calibri 10
- Footnotes are limited to 3 and should not replace the bibliography
References
References must follow the style of the Revue Française de Sociologie, in Calibri 12.
- Book: Goffman E., 1974, Frame analysis: An essay on the organization of experience, London, Harper & Row.

Evaluation
All submissions will be reviewed blindly by at least two members of the scientific committee based on the following criteria:
- Relevance to the conference themes
- Clarity, structure, and readability
- Robustness of theoretical and methodological framework
- Originality and scientific contribution
- Interest for participants
